Updates: Orphanage / Kenya / Zambia

Thanks to Dave Welk’s efforts our Orphanage Charity Match will be played in San Diego on Sunday, November 22. Donate today to help the orphanage. Josh has started a new soccer ministry in Kenya Likius and Al joined me virtually for our first introduction to sports ministry with 30 Zambian pastors. We are now networked in with 400 denominations and 20,000 churches.

THE MATCH HAS BEEN POSTPONED due to COVID Restrictions. Steve, Bruce and David W are working on a new date for the match.

The Great News is – we have raised over $4,000 and we will be sending money this week so the orphanage can buy that new oven they need so much. There are more needs if you would still like to donate.

Sammy Surge Back in Action/Children’s Ministry Continues

We are so blessed to serve in so many ways. To think that in a matter of days Al and Lori Lotz raised money for a crisis in Peru and thousands of miles away we can continue our children’s ministry as the world slowly opens up again.

Fire – Urgent need in Peru

UPDATE AS OF JULY 21, 2020

We are humbled and so encouraged by the outpouring of response and giving concerning the needs of Marcos and his family in Peru. In just one day we exceeded our goal to help them rebuild their lives after the fire. Just a reminder that any excess will go towards the Shipibo Bible school project where Marcos is a student. Our Ministry using Soccer

We use soccer as a way to gain acceptance and build relationships. We customize each trip to the needs and desires of the people but this clip has a good variety of different soccer-related events from a trip to Bolivia where we worked previously for many years. Part of this trip was in support of a new, first of its kind Christian based soccer academy in Bolivia, and part of it was outreach and street ministry using soccer.

“We are hunkered down for the time being trying to be wise with our health. Finding the balance of staying safe and helping others can be a challenge at times like this. I’m using the time to prepare lessons in Spanish for my next Peru trip that is scheduled for the end of May but that may have to be postponed depending on the two countries involved in transportation options. Zambia trip postponed / Haiti trip could be too Surge founder Dave Irby was all set to join the Luis Palau Alliance for ❤️Zambia April 25-May 5. Due to the Corona virus the trip has been postponed.
