Liberia Trip Update: Feb 19, 2022

As we venture back out into the world, we all know it is not without risks. Preparing for the unexpected and adapting is critical in accomplishing our goals…. First my return flight was canceled, then changed. Next my departing flight was canceled, then changed. Yesterday I went to check in at PDX and much to the suprise of the Delta Ticket Agent she couldn’t check me in for my flights to Monrovia, Liberia. Air France had canceled my new flight.

Almost 2 hours later my Thursday flight was now on Delta this Sunday, from PDX to JFK (9 /12 hours layover) then on to Accra, Ghana and finally into Monrovia. 🤞🙏.

Lord willing my colleague Al Lotz (from Atlanta) and I will touch down in Monvrovia Monday night – for a shorter and more intense visit – to train soccer coaches; conduct a sports ministry seminar for pastors & leaders; and help with educational development in a joint venture with multiple organizations.

27 hours of travel, going from a cool dry climate to a hot and humid one, and now jumping right into the tensive programming, with the two days to acclimate will be challenging.

Ultimately, any worthwhile project we tackle at Surge International is guided by key principles set forth in the great book of wisdom – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
