Likius Hafeni joined the Surge International Board in the Spring of 2018. He is from Mariental, Namibia. When I was in middle school a group of young people
from Youth for Christ, Namibia came to our school and taught us about Christ.
In 1999, I had the opportunity to represent Namibia U/19 national soccer team at the World Youth Cup in the Sweden, Helsinki Cup in Finland, and the Southern African Ball Games in Botswana. Since then God directed me towards sports ministry and opened many opportunities for me to share the gospel. In 1999, I was also voted the Sports man of The year for my High School, Junior Sports man of the year for my state in Namibia.
A few of Likius’s highlights:
- Worked for my church in Namibia and attended the International Sports Leadership
School in Stellenbosch, South Africa. - Attended All Nations Christian College in England and studied sports ministry for a
year. - Worked for my church in Namibia and pioneered sports ministry in Namibia.
- Played for the Cascade Surge
- Worked with Calvary Chapel Salem and did sports ministry in Salem, Oregon.
- Graduated with B.Sc. in Exercise Science from Corban University.
- Founded the Grass Roots After School Program in Salem, Oregon that is currently serving 10 Elementary Schools.
- Head Women Soccer coach of Corban University, Salem, Oregon
